A beloved actor from Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and a long list of television credits has died in a New York crash. Wenne Alton Davis, who used they/them pronouns and was 60 years old, passed away after a car accident on Monday in Manhattan.
According to the New York Police Department, officers found Davis shortly after 9 p.m. lying in the roadway near West 53rd Street and Broadway in Midtown. The driver of a Black Cadillac SUV struck Davis, who sustained severe head and body trauma and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The SUV was operated by a 61-year-old man who was not injured. Police said no arrests have been made and the investigation remains active.
Davis’ representative, Jamie Harris, shared on Instagram: “Rest in peace, old friend. We will miss you forever,” accompanied by a photo of Harris and Davis.
Davis’ acting résumé includes appearances on shows such as Blindspot and New Amsterdam, with a small role in the film Shame, which stars Michael Fassbender. They resided in Forest Hills, Queens, according to the NYPD.
