Bold claim: Honkai Star Rail fans won’t have to wait long to reach the game’s next big locale, and there’s a bonus gift riding along. Yet the path to 4.0 is getting a slight shuffle. Hoyoverse has extended the 3.8 update, which pushes the departure for the next region back by a few weeks.
The delay is reportedly tied to ongoing tensions between China and Japan, suggesting the originally planned Japanese-themed area is undergoing last-minute tweaks. A fresh social media post confirms the new destination as Planarcadia and even drops a small teaser about what may lie ahead.
Anticipation is high because the upcoming Elation storyline is set to play a central role, with Aeon Aha vibes—think the enigmatic Masked Fools and Mourning Actors. This context lines up with a social media screenshot from Honkai Star Rail that features six character silhouettes, including Sparkle.
From left to right, the silhouettes appear to be Sparkle, a mystery figure who could be a Himeko SP or Yao Guang, Blade, La Mancha (the upcoming Galaxy Ranger), Silver Wolf, and a Sakura-inspired version reminiscent of a Honkai Impact character. There are whispers about SP versions for Blade, Sparkle, Himeko, and Silver Wolf, and this silhouette lineup could be a nod to those possibilities.
One point of personal excitement: a potential five-star Sampo. If it arrives, it’ll be hard to keep calm—there might be drama if it doesn’t show up.
What we actually know about Planarcadia beyond silhouettes is still thin. The Express reportedly crashed into Planarcadia, where Aeon Aha initiated Elation followers into their game, granting a brief one-minute glimpse into being an Aeon. Expect some playful misdirection and perhaps faked-out realities in the presentation.
Also, that oversized PomPom inflatable next to a giant Cocolia isn’t the new destination. It’s Belobog, indicating a return for a festival arc featuring Dan Heng and March 7th.
On the bright side, every player will receive 1,000 free Stellar Jades and ten fuel as compensation for the delay, helping players prepare for the next content drop. With banners in mind, many are already thinking about which characters they’ll chase next in Honkai Star Rail.
